NMD 25 : The Last “Natmap” Cairn

In honour of her husband Jim (Natmap 1961-64 incl.) Helen Combe has built a Natmap cairn in her garden.

With technical advice from Ed Burke, after setting the centre pole and vanes in concrete, Helen used a length of rope to ensure the decreasing diameters of rock courses were kept circular. Keeping with the specifications, as the cairn is in Victoria, it has the State prefix “D” and the number 25 to ensure it is unique.

In comparison with those of the era, Helen’s efforts are most creditable.
